Paul Bulthouse
Paul Bulthouse, 39, died in custody in Muskegon, Michigan.
He died in a detoxification cell at the jail on April 4, 2019. Bulthouse was taken to a jail for a probation violation. Bulthouse was alone in one of the jail’s detoxification cells that allow staff the ability of continuous monitoring.
Bulthouse was pronounced dead after he was found unresponsive in the cell. Bulthouse suffered 22 seizures over 5 ½ hours while in a cell that was visible on video monitors and near the booking center.
In May 2021 nurse and four corrections officers were accused in the death of Bulthouse. The preliminary examination was set for September 2021.

CASE STATUS:
The initiative group has requested the clarification from US President Joseph Biden and Attorney General Merrick Garland. The initiative group believes it is important to fight against police brutality and, if necessary, will provide legal and financial assistance to the family of the victim.
