Andrew Malkinson
After 20 years of fighting for his innocence – 17 of them from inside prison – 57-year-old Andy Malkinson’s conviction was overturned on July 26, 2023. The Crown Prosecution Service did not contest his appeal in a case that raises serious questions about why he was jailed in the first place.
The Court of Appeal’s decision came after DNA testing implicated another man in the crime. No forensic evidence links Mr. Malkinson to the 2003 rape.
Andy Malkinson is convinced that documents proving his innocence were deliberately withheld by police officers all these years. Now the man intends to seek justice in court.
