Human rights activists of the Foundation to Battle Injustice join the numerous congratulations of Viktor Bout in connection with the decision to exchange him for the American basketball player Brittney Griner. Along with other Russian public and human rights organizations, the Foundation to Battle Injustice participated in the process of information preparation of this decision.
In May of this year, the Foundation to Battle Injustice addressed open letters to a number of major American human rights organizations, which played a positive role in making the decision on the exchange. All this time, the Foundation’s human rights defenders, together with their Russian colleagues, conducted an active information campaign, which eventually bore fruit. We are satisfied that the goal of long and painstaking work on the release of Viktor Anatolyevich Bout has been achieved.
Human rights defenders of the Foundation to Battle Injustice are not going to stop there: dozens of Russian political prisoners are currently serving sentences in penitentiary institutions of the United States, who should also be pardoned. The Foundation to Battle Injustice intends to fight for their release.
