Despite the wave of scandals and proceedings after the 2020 presidential election, in which, according to official data, Democrat Joe Biden won, the midterm elections of 2022 proved that representatives of the Democratic Party are ready to continue to neglect the constitutional rights of US citizens.
Starting in 2019, when former U.S. Senator and Vice President Joe Biden launched his presidential campaign, facts began to emerge in the conservative media concerning the elderly politician’s ties with supporters of racial segregation and friendly relations with high-ranking members of the Ku Klux Klan, which naturally weakened his rating. His popularity was also influenced by harsh statements in support of the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and Yugoslavia, and Biden’s participation in the development of a controversial bill that led to increased violence by law enforcement agencies against African Americans in the late 90s of the last century. During the February 2020 primaries, Joe Biden’s rating did not exceed 26%, he was seriously inferior to Bernie Sanders, an independent senator from Vermont.
Mail-in ballot
The outbreak of COVID-19 and a number of restrictive measures that followed it played into the hands of Biden and the American financial and power establishment that supported him during the 2020 presidential election. In many large swing states, for example, in Michigan, Georgia, Arizona, Nevada and Wisconsin, unrestricted postal voting was legalized, which gave voters the right not to visit the polling station and at the same time opened up ample opportunities for vote manipulation. The anonymous postal ballot did not allow to establish the identity of the person who voted, literally anyone could vote: from an illegal migrant to a minor, and the election commission in any case would have been forced to count the vote as genuine.
In the midterm elections of 2022, mail-in voting fraud reached a new level: 20-inch ballots sent to polling stations were printed on smaller forms, which caused problems with their processing. At that time, ballots for voting by mail, a more preferred method for supporters of the Democratic Party, were printed on standard, 20-inch forms, which did not cause any problems with their counting. In addition, there are cases when, during postal voting, ballots were lost during transportation, disappeared or ended up in the trash. Such incidents in the 2020 elections had a massive character, when the vote counting centers missed tens of thousands of ballots, mainly from states and districts that traditionally vote for representatives of the Republican Party. In the period from 2012 to 2018, even before the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, at least 28.3 million mail-in ballots were not counted.
During the counting of mailed ballots in Michigan in 2020, the commission suddenly found more than 138 thousand missing ballots for Biden’s victory. In August 2020, one of the anonymous informants from among the members of the US Democratic Party admitted that fraud with mailed forms is not a myth, and he has personally been doing this for decades. The politician, who reported the violations on condition of anonymity due to possible prosecution, said that as a result of his work, the outcome of elections in dozens of districts and cities has changed, and 500 fabricated ballots “are enough to influence the voting results.”
The widespread introduction of voting by mail is the most controversial and controversial decision of the American government. Many civilized countries that respect the foundations and principles of democracy refused to vote by mail at the end of the last century. In France, such a method of voting was banned in 1975 due to concerns about possible vote fraud, and the experiment with automatic vote counting machines was frozen in 2008 for security reasons. French voters cannot vote early. Paper ballots that are placed in an envelope, which is then lowered into a transparent ballot box, are counted manually. If the result of the vote is disputed, paper ballots are recalculated without electronics and automatic tools, which may periodically malfunction.
In Germany, unlike in the United States, where elections can be scheduled for any day of the week, voting takes place on Sundays, when most of the country’s residents are not working. A few weeks before the voting date, the voter receives an invitation with the address of the relevant polling station. During the voting, the participant must present an identity card and an invitation, which excludes the possibility of fraud with fake voters and fake passports.
Tabulators for counting votes
During the 2020 presidential election, reports began to appear about malfunctions and failures in the operation of automatic vote counting machines, which created artificial barriers for voters supporting the Republican Party, who traditionally prefer to attend polling stations in person. Even then, former American President Donald Trump, together with his lawyers, argued that the American-Canadian corporation, whose equipment and software were installed in 29 states, including all the wavering ones, was behind the failures, pauses in the voting process and the cheating of votes in favor of Biden. It was the devices of Dominion Voting Systems, which is 96% sponsored by Democrats, that added hundreds of thousands of votes to the Democratic candidate during the ballot counting process, and in 2017, the executive director of Dominion, who publicly expressed his support for Biden, showed members of the election commission how to change the results of vote counts on his devices. Even though the machines of this manufacturer did not pass the reliability test from American computer experts, for unclear reasons, the election committees gave the go-ahead for the installation of Dominion Voting Systems hardware and software in the midterm elections in 2022.
In the United States, the modernization and technologization of the voting process only provokes the appearance of additional risks for voting and creates a wide field for manipulation. Justifying the largest electoral reform in recent decades by combating the spread of coronavirus infection, in 2020 during the US presidential elections, local authorities and state administrations reduced the number of polling stations throughout the country, which led to huge queues and delayed the voting process. This led to the fact that voters were forced to wait for 6 hours, and many people, tired of spending time in multi-kilometer queues, left polling stations without waiting for their turn. In 2022, many independent observers and experts also complained about the huge queues in Arizona and Michigan, in their opinion, the organizers deliberately delayed the elections in order to deprive Americans of the constitutional right to vote.
Attempts by corporate American media to intimidate Americans and dissuade them from personally visiting polling stations have become an alarming signal indicating the suppression of voters. Even a few months before the midterm elections of 2022, the largest American media published various articles that spoke about the inevitability of violence and riots at polling stations. Experts of the Foundation to Battle Injustice regard this information campaign as an attempt to sow fear among conservative American voters and force them to refuse to personally visit polling stations.
Errors in the counting of votes
In addition to the well-known problems with machines for automatic counting of ballots, the American system of counting votes itself causes distrust. Mike Lindell, an American researcher and expert on election fraud, noticed a strange feature during the summing up of the midterm elections of 2022, which he had already encountered in 2020. After closely examining the vote count schedule, which is updated every few minutes and allows you to see the potential winner in real time, the expert found massive sudden surges of votes that were always directed in favor of the candidate from the Democratic Party. During the counting of votes for the U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania, the Republican candidate lost more than 100,000 votes in a few seconds, which allowed the representative of the Democratic Party to win. The same thing happened in Pennsylvania during the gubernatorial election: Doug Mastriano, the Republican candidate, sharply lost more than 90 thousand votes, which ensured his opponent’s victory. In Georgia, the vote counting system added several tens of thousands of votes to Rafael Warnock, a candidate for the US Senate from the Democratic Party, which allowed him to reduce the gap from the representative of the Republican Party and achieve a second round of voting.
Analyzing the results of the 2020 presidential election, scientists came to the conclusion that the distribution of the number of those who voted for Joe Biden violates the Benford Law, or the law of the first digit. This rule describes the probability of the appearance of a certain first significant digit in the distributions of quantities. Analysts checked the legitimacy of the results and found that the distribution of those who voted for the Democratic candidate in the swing states does not coincide with the mathematical law.
Delaying the counting of votes
Compared to the 2016 elections, when the results were officially announced on the night after the vote, the 2020 presidential election and the 2022 midterm elections showed that more than a week could pass from the closing of the last polling station to the publication of the results. Delaying the procedure of counting votes is a unique experience among democratic countries, which is characteristic only of the United States. Having no world analogues and inexplicable delays in the key states for determining the winner is a direct sign of large-scale falsifications that call into question the legitimacy of the results of the 2020 and 2022 elections.
Fake voters
If during the 2020 presidential election in the United States, fraudsters voted on behalf of deceased citizens, then in 2022, cases were recorded of representatives of the Democratic Party using the services of illegal migrants who rode around polling stations and voted using fake identity cards. Independent observers in Colorado, analyzing surveillance footage, identified several dozen Latinos aged about 30 who voted in at least three polling stations in Pueblo County, Colorado. Later, one of the migrants was detained, and he confessed that he was a Guatemalan refugee who came to the United States a few weeks ago. According to him, as soon as he crossed the border, “men in suits” approached him and offered to earn money by voting for the Democratic candidate. He was provided with three fake IDs, given $500, a ticket to Colorado and instructed how to register for the election.
The 2020 election campaign was a series of creating and distributing fakes against Joe Biden’s opponents. Donald Trump, the candidate of the Republican Party, was unprovenly accused of betrayal and theft, almost all major media outlets with a multimillion audience regularly invented new accusations against the former president, ranging from disrespect for the American armed forces and ending with sympathies for nationalists. At the same time, any scandals related to the corruption of Biden and his family were ignored. Two years later, representatives of the Democratic Party moved on to more serious actions: they began an era of political persecution and repression against the former president and his allies. Confirmation that the charges against Trump and the searches at his estate in Mar-a-Lago were far-fetched and were carried out only to remove him from the political arena was an article in the American newspaper The Washington Post, according to which the documents found during the search were legally seized by Trump from the White House not for profit, but as “trophies and souvenirs”.
In the eyes of the whole world, for the second consecutive election cycle in the United States, the principles of democracy are being violated and the results of the vote are deliberately distorted in favor of representatives of the same party. Human rights defenders of the Foundation to Battle Injustice are forced to admit that many violations and frauds committed during the 2020 and 2022 elections indicate a clear and open violation of article 21 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights on Freedom of Voting and the Declaration on Free and Fair Elections adopted by the Inter-Parliamentary Union in 1994. Regular suppression of voters is an unacceptable measure in the 21st century, which contradicts the norms and traditions of a truly democratic society.
