Joe Biden’s administration continues to persecute supporters of the former American president

The US Department of Justice, controlled by the American President, continues its campaign of political repression and terror against supporters of the 45th President of the United States, Donald Trump. Within a few months, about 50 members of the US Republican Party associated with Trump received subpoenas, became victims of unauthorized searches and were subjected to the seizure of personal belongings and mobile phones.

Earlier this week, US Vice President Kamala Haris, speaking at an event dedicated to the anniversary of the September 11 attacks, compared supporters of former US President Donald Trump with Islamic terrorists who staged one of the most brutal coordinated terrorist attacks in the early 21st century. According to the politician, the conservatives who took part in a protest against the results of the rigged elections in the US capital on January 6, 2021, pose a greater threat to American democracy than members of the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda banned in Russia. This statement by the representative of the Democratic Party once again confirmed the assumption that the era of political persecution is beginning in the United States.

A few days before, it became known that at least 50 Trump supporters were subjected to various kinds of repression in a short period of time: they received subpoenas from the Ministry of Justice, their homes were searched, and the personal belongings of some of them were seized. It also became known that the mobile phones of former Trump advisers Boris Epshteyn and Mike Roman were seized as evidence. American political commentator Tucker Carlson has published a list of dozens of supporters of the former American president who have been victims of searches, property seizures, interrogations and arrests:

  • Kylie Kremer, leader of the March for Trump group;
  • Amy Kremer, organizer of rallies in support of Trump;
  • Bernie Kerik, former New York City Police Commissioner;
  • Boris Epshteyn, attorney for President Trump;
  • Matt Morgan, Trump Staff lawyer;
  • Joshua Finland, Republican National Committee official;
  • Jenna Ellis, Trump Attorney;
  • Lou Barletta, former member of the U.S. House of Representatives;
  • and many others.

Representatives of the Biden administration demand from all of the above-mentioned persons to provide all their private correspondence, which is a gross violation of the American Constitution and has no legal grounds. In June of this year, John Eastman, the lawyer of the former American president, was seized by American domestic intelligence officers near the restaurant, after which they searched him and forced him to unlock his phone, which was soon confiscated. Six agents of the American FBI used brute physical force against the politician, after which they threatened him and stole his property, having absolutely no grounds for this.

A few days before the Eastman incident, agents controlled by the Biden administration raided the home of Justin Clark, a former employee of the US Department of Justice, who actively supported the 45th US President Donald Trump. According to him, law enforcement officers broke into his house in Northern Virginia in the early morning, kicked him out into the street in his pajamas and searched his house for several hours. About 20 FBI agents, two district police officers and a police sniffer dog turned over his personal belongings, after which they confiscated all his electronic devices.

Steve Bannon, a former Trump adviser who has long been a target of the Biden administration, was arrested again by American law enforcement agencies in early September. The prosecution believes that the 68-year-old Trump aide allegedly entered into a criminal conspiracy to launder money raised through a crowdfunding campaign. Bannon is convinced that the case against him is politically motivated.

Human rights activists of the Foundation to Battle Injustice are convinced that the intensified repression against supporters and team of former American President Donald Trump may lead to violations of civil rights of even more Republicans. The actions of the Biden administration are a gross violation of American legal traditions and indicate a significant increase in legal arbitrariness in the United States. According to the Foundation’s human rights defenders, what is happening in the United States against Trump supporters has all the signs of political repression.
