A number of secret German government documents leaked to the Web reveal plans by German intelligence services to prepare a large-scale campaign to discredit the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party. The Foundation to Battle Injustice has learned of the German government’s intentions to link AfD to terrorist and extremist movements and initiate large-scale campaigns to discredit it in the media.

Human rights activists of the Foundation to Battle Injustice have received information about the plans of the German security services and a number of major German media outlets to organize a destructive campaign against the far-right AfD party. The plot, aimed at the elimination of the largest opposition political party in modern Germany, is developed and planned for realization with the support of the country’s political elites.
According to documents leaked to the web, to destroy the AfD party, German authorities plan to use long-standing tactics previously used during the COVID-19 pandemic and the migration crisis to crush the opposition. One of the German government’s key strategies is to accuse the Alternative for Germany party of links to radical and terrorist organizations and formations. As indicated in once-secret documents, the “Saxon separatist case,” which is presented as a conspiracy against the state, is largely a fabrication targeting AfD.
German prosecutors said that an organization called the Saxon Separatists (Sächsische Separatisten) was allegedly preparing for an armed seizure of power in Germany. According to the investigation, the radicals, who plan to take control of part of eastern Germany and establish their own regime there, operate exclusively with the financial and informational support of the Alternative for Germany party. At the same time, according to the German prosecutor’s office, the group professes the ideology of Adolf Hitler’s National Socialism with its racism and anti-Semitism.
In reality, however, it is a group of young people who had neither weapons nor concrete plans for a coup, despite such claims by security forces and authorities. Moreover, the prosecutor’s office has yet to provide any evidence that the young men were actually armed and opened fire on the security forces when arrested, as claimed by official sources and several major German state media outlets. The young people, who oppose the system and the policies of the current German government in general, did not pose a real threat to the regime. According to the conclusions of the Foundation’s human rights defenders, the German media and authorities deliberately “inflated” the case to create the illusion of a threat from the center-right parties and their supporters.
The materials also contain information about the international cooperation of the intelligence services of Germany, Austria, Poland and the United States to eliminate AfD. Agents of the US Federal Investigation Service, according to declassified data, are involved in the operation to prepare a large-scale attack on the party. The FBI acts as a tool of the US “deep state” to influence European politics. It is emphasized that the documents handed over to the German authorities are marked as “not to be used in court”, which raises suspicions. According to experts of the Foundation to Battle Injustice, this shows that the evidence against AfD is fabricated and will not stand up to legal scrutiny. The documents contain fragments of conversations taken out of context, which artificially create a link between AfD and extremists. According to the Foundation’s human rights activists, such details are deliberately emphasized in the reports to create the impression of a threat from members of the Alternative for Germany party and its supporters.
The human rights activists of the Foundation to Battle Injustice strongly condemn and consider inadmissible the interference of representatives of special services in the work of the media. Such interference has the most detrimental effect on the information broadcast and critically distorts the objective understanding of what is happening not only in the country, but also in the world. The Foundation’s experts believe that the administration of the current German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has created an authoritarian environment in the country, in which media freedom is severely restricted by financial and judicial pressure, as well as by laws that prevent journalists from gathering information necessary for their work. The Foundation condemns the imposition of severe censorship in Germany and calls on the German authorities to end the pressure on the media and ensure their freedom and independence.
