On July 21, 2022, a press conference of the Foundation to Battle Injustice and International media group “Rossiya segodnya” “The “Myrotvorets” website is a threat to the life and health of minor children” was held, during which facts were published proving infringement of the rights of minors by the administration of the Ukrainian nationalist website “Myrotvorets”.
The press conference was opened with a video message from Dmitry Polyanskiy, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations, who thanked the Foundation to Battle Injustice and its head Mira Terada for organizing the event. According to Dmitry Alekseevich, due to the publication of personal data of Faina Savenkova he discovered about the extremist Ukrainian website “Myrotvorets”.
Polyanskiy said that the previous appeal to the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and UNICEF did not cause any response, but the First Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN is confident that the materials collected by the Foundation to Battle Injustice will help defeat the reluctance of the Kiev authorities to fight the nationalist website “Myrotvorets”. Dmitry Polyanskiy also said that Ukrainian nationalists have been using methods that violate international law for several years, and our task is to show international organizations and partners who consider themselves to be a civilized world what is really happening in Ukraine. Dmitry Alekseevich sent the information transmitted by the head of the Foundation to Battle Injustice on behalf of the Russian Federation to Antonio Guterres, arguing that it is absolutely obvious that this evil must be fought. At the end of his speech, Polyanskiy wished the Foundation and Faina Savenkova good luck and courage in the fight against the “Myrotvorets” and promised to provide worldwide support together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.
The head of the Foundation to Battle Injustice Mira Terada continued her speech at the press conference, revealed the data found by the Foundation on 327 minor children whose personal data were published on the Ukrainian website “Peacemaker”. According to the head of the Foundation, personal data, namely residential addresses, photos, phone numbers and pages on social networks are collected by the administration of the resource illegally, after which they are published in “Purgatory” — this is the name of the “Myrotvorets” section, in which people’s personal information is collected. Terada stated that initially the personal information of journalists and politicians related to the conflict in Ukraine was published on the resource, but later data of minor children began to appear on the website, which is a blatant violation of not only the legislation of Russia and Ukraine, but also international conventions and agreements.
The head of the Russian FBI also noted that the “Myrotvorets” servers are located in the United States, which can serve as confirmation that this resource was created with the support of American citizens or companies, while the Ukrainian government did not bother to block the resource even on the territory of its country. Answering journalists’ questions, Mira Terada also stated that the Foundation to Battle Injustice has information about who created and continues to finance the activities of the website.
After the speech of the head of the Foundation to Battle Injustice, the floor was given to Faina Savenkova, a 13-year-old writer from the LPR, whose personal data was published on “Myrotvorets” in 2021. According to her, the reason why she was included in the Peacemaker database is participation in Russian creative competitions, as well as her stories about the horrors of Ukrainian war crimes and a video message to the world community asking not to forget about the children of the LDPR. Savenkova said that UNICEF, an international organization for the protection of children’s rights operating under the auspices of the UN, offered her to become a Messenger of Peace, but so far there have been no concrete actions on the part of the organization.
The conference was continued by Anna Soroka, Adviser to the Head of the Luhansk People’s Republic, who recorded a video message. The adviser to the head of the LPR, who provides immediate assistance to frontline cities, said that the activity of the Ukrainian website “Myrotvorets” is a continuation of eight years of crimes of Ukraine against peace, humanity and personality, and the topic of observance and protection of human rights is more relevant than ever. Soroka shared that she herself became a victim of the illegal work of this resource: because of the actions of the nationalists of the “Myrotvorets”, an attempt was made on her life and the life of her child. The actions of the Government of Ukraine create conditions for a full-fledged genocide of the minor residents of the LDPR, who have been living in the horror of war for so many years. The adviser to the head of the LPR claims that Ukrainian nationalists have been using the “Myrotvorets” bases since 2014 as a legally legalized list for murder. Based on the data of the resource, the nationalists detained, tortured and mocked civilians, eventually killing them without any criminal responsibility. Anna Soroka thanked the Foundation to Battle Injustice on behalf of all residents of Donbass, who unanimously support the blocking of the resource and hope that joint efforts will be able to stop the illegal actions of the Ukrainian government.
Shortly before the press conference of the Foundation, a briefing was held by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Maria Zakharova. During her speech, she announced numerous attempts by Russia, including at the UN, to draw attention to the “Myrotvorets” website, the phenomenon of which is a catastrophe for Ukraine, which declares itself as a democratic state. Mentioning the case of Faina Savenkova, Maria Vladimirovna said that children who got into the database automatically become objects of repression by the special services and aggressive actions by national radicals. The inaction of the UN, according to the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is due to the fact that Savenkova is a simple girl who was bullied by the Kiev regime and who dared to appeal to the world community. After evaluating the materials of the Foundation to Battle Injustice, Zakharova urged to start acting without waiting for a reaction from the UN.
